Episode 5: Crabs in White Satin

This session sees Marcel rejoining the group. They sneakily make their way to the standing stones where several half-crab half-man creatures are in the midst of performing a ritual. Combat ensues and the ritual is interrupted, but not before Axley and Khonnos get covered in goop, again! What does a captured half-crab-man tell the group? What do they find in the middle of the standing stones?

DeBrief: The team ends the episode with more discussion of theater of the mind and having helpful sketches, but not tactical maps, available during the game. Also discussed... the value of having overlapping areas of expertise between different PCs, using spells for interesting effects (breaking concentration), and is there a difference between a history check and a memory check? Can you use a perception check to remember something?

Episode 4: Dreams and Standing Stones

In this episode the Tempest's Fortune finds its way to the uncharted Crab Island only to find carnage piles, ruins, and ritual standing stones. Emmeryn experiences a vision she is convinced came from her patron deity, Goras. The team ends the episode with the first true Debrief in which we discuss theater of the mind, using virtual tables to get a group together, and being open about giving and receiving feedback at the table.

Our brave heroes leave the lighthouse and find a gruff Dwarven dock watch officer. He isn't the most friendly of people, but he lets them exploit a loophole that nets them a ship of their own! Meet our brave heroes in this first episode of D&Debrief! In the first half of this episode DM Samuel hosts a session 0 character creation activity! After a quick introduction to the setting, we meet the PCs. First we find out about Ashaz "Ash" Whitemane, a Tabaxi Rogue who spent

most of his young life stowed away on a cargo ship. We also introduce Emmeryn, a Human Cleric of Goras who has spent the past months trying to figure out the secret of The Sinking. And lastly we get to know Axley Tillingquest, a Halfling Bard who is destined to write the greatest epic story ever told... and a cookbook.

In the second half the lighthouse keeper's daughter tasks our heroes with finding out if her father is alive and well. While investigating they witness strange movement on the beach. The group comes upon a consortium of crabs - the mealy, rotting beasts are eating something disgusting on the beach! A strange eye-like symbol embroidered on a sailor's tunic, a half sunken ship, and a scrap of paper with a mysterious name leave the group with more questions than answers!
